Mystery House

Explore a Victorian house, find clues and survive a murder mystery through the original illustrated Apple II adventure and its two-word command parser.

Let the original title appear, then Continue past the public-domain notice. Type G and Send for the game, or I for the original instructions. After G, wait for the yard to appear before sending the next command. Follow native paging prompts with Continue before typing another command. Use the Command field and Send on a phone, or focus the game and type with a keyboard. Try GO STEPS, OPEN DOOR and GET NOTE. Continue sends an empty Return; during play it toggles the original graphics/text view. Zoom in makes text larger; scroll or enable Pan view to move the enlarged screen, and Fit restores the full view. Menu opens ScummVM’s native save/load/quit controls (Ctrl+F5 on a keyboard). Tab moves from the game to the command and view controls, then returns to the page.

Type SAVE GAME to write the original engine’s save slot, and RESTORE GAME to load it after restarting. Stop uses native Quit and retains written saves; it does not save the current position automatically. Page Pause freezes the clock and audio. Clearing site data removes local saves.
