How to play

Goal. Fill every square with a seed or a sprout so each row and column is balanced, with no three alike in a line and no two lines the same.

Planting

  • Each row and each column holds the same number of seeds and sprouts: three of each on 6 × 6, four on 8 × 8, five on 10 × 10.
  • Three seeds or three sprouts never sit next to each other in a row or column.
  • No two rows match exactly, and no two columns do. Plants that break a rule are marked.
  • Tap a square to cycle seed, sprout and empty. On a keyboard, 1 plants a seed and 2 a sprout.
♣●●♣♣●♣
Pairs and gaps. Two seeds side by side need sprouts at both ends, and a gap between two sprouts must hold a seed. The ringed squares follow from those two rules.

Help

  • Every grid has exactly one solution and can be finished by reasoning alone. Hint fixes a wrong plant or fills an empty square.
  • Choose 6 × 6, 8 × 8 or 10 × 10, or today's grid.

Controls

  • Touch or keyboard.
