How to play Bridge

Partners sit opposite. A sixteen-board match uses standard duplicate contract scores and the rotating vulnerability cycle. Each player has thirteen cards. Bids increase by level and strain: clubs, diamonds, hearts, spades, no trump. Three passes after a bid end the auction; four opening passes pass out the board. Opponents may double; the declaring side may redouble. Declarer is the first player in the winning partnership to bid the final strain. The player to declarer’s left leads. Dummy is exposed after that lead and declarer controls its plays. Follow suit when possible; highest trump or lead-suit card wins. Contract, game, slam, overtrick and undertrick scores account for doubling and vulnerability. Highest net team score after sixteen boards wins. This table uses raw duplicate scores; Kurnik’s HCP-adjusted IMP table, conventions, claims and tournament director rulings are outside this variant.
