How to play Gin Rummy

Ten cards each. The dealer’s opponent may take the opening upcard; if passed, the dealer may take it. If both pass, draw from stock. Draw one, then discard another; you cannot return the upcard just drawn. Meld sets of three/four equal ranks or same-suit runs of at least three, ace low. Knock when the remaining deadwood is at most ten: ace one, face cards ten. Melds and opponent layoffs are optimized automatically. Gin earns deadwood difference plus 25; an equal or lower opponent deadwood undercuts for 25 plus difference. At 100, the game ends with game and hand bonuses. Two cards left in stock cancels the round with the same dealer.
