How to play Classic Rummy

One deal, no jokers. Two players receive ten cards each; three or four receive seven. Aces are low only. Draw one card from the stock or take the top discard. Then optionally meld sets of three or four equal ranks, or runs of three or more consecutive cards of one suit. You may add held cards to either end of any public run or complete a public set. Keep at least one card and end your turn by discarding; a taken upcard cannot be discarded immediately. First to discard their last card wins and scores the total value of cards held by opponents: ace 1, faces 10, other cards face value. Recycle discards beneath the top card when stock runs out. If stock and recyclable discards are both empty and the next player chooses stock, the deal ends; lowest remaining card value wins, with ties drawn. No initial meld threshold, knock or Rummy 500 scoring.
