How to play Spades
Teams are Players 1 & 3 and Players 2 & 4. Dealer bids and leads first. Bid 0–13 tricks; nil means take none. Spades are always trump. Follow suit; lead spades only after they are broken or with only spades left. A successful team bid scores ten per bid trick plus one per overtrick; failure loses ten per bid trick. Ten bags cost 100. Nil earns or loses 100; nil tricks cannot fulfil the team bid and add bags. Blind nil, offered before seeing cards when trailing by 200, earns or loses 200. At 500 or −200, higher team score wins.
